Daniela 'Danyhella' Slezáková
biography
My first steps in the music industry took place during my studies at the Business Academy, when I started to work for legendary Czech band Blue Effect fronted by acclaimed guitarist Radim Hladík. Shortly afterwards I participated at the event production of Filip Benešovský’s The Wall 2009, mega concert in the sold out O2 arena in Prague.
After graduating from the language school, the following period was marked by collaboration in the field of booking and tour management, especially with the Harry Waters Quartet (UK/AUS/IZ). Harry is known from playing in the band of his father, Roger Waters from Pink Floyd, with Marianne Faithfull or Tom Jones. At the same time, I continued to work in the production of another Benešovský‘s multimedia stadium shows, Dark Side Of The Moon. Simultaneously, a movie studio Bio Illusion brought to cinemas a documentary about iconic Scottish hard rock band called Nazareth: Until We Drop, which I was also involved in.
Subsequently, I began to focus more on booking and tour management. I organized a tour in the Czech Republic and Slovakia for Harry Waters & Friends project, where Harry was accompanied by top musicians of Czech jazz scene. I’ve also organized several international tours for Ian Ritchie’s SOHO Project. Well known British saxophonist Ian Ritchie is familiar to audiences around the world, particularly from Roger Waters’ Dark Side of the Moon tour, Us and Them tour, from records by Beach Boys, George Michael or as a composer of the famous Globetrekker theme. The band also performed at festivals as a headliner alongside Dave Douglas, Richard Bona and Al Di Meola.
Over the years, I have also been able to collaborate with the leading Israeli saxophonist, writer and philosopher Gilad Atzmon.
I’ve worked with McNally Waters. The band founded by Harry Waters and Larry John McNally – a songwriter, singer and guitarist, whose hits has been recorded by Joe Cocker, Rod Stewart, The Eagles, etc. McNally Waters also toured in the United Kingdom as a support act of Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets tour.
I spent a few years focused on production of jazz concerts that hosted names such as multiple Grammy winner Randy Brecker, Bobby Watson, Harold López-Nussa or Erik Truffaz.
Whilst still working in tour management field, recently I’ve been also involved in creative and PR activities for legendary Prague jazz club U Malého Glena as well as for the annual Czech Jazz Workshop.
