Daniela 'Danyhella' Slezáková
biography
My first steps in the music industry took place during my studies at the Business Academy, when I started to work for legendary Czech band Blue Effect fronted by acclaimed quitarist Radim Hladík. Shortly afterwards I participated at the event production of Filip Benešovský’s The Wall 2009, mega concert in the sold out O2 arena in Prague.
After graduating from the language school, the following period was marked by collaboration in the field of booking and tour management, especially with the Harry Waters Quartet (UK/AUS/IZ) band. Music world knows Harry Waters from playing in the band of his father, Roger Waters from Pink Floyd, with Marianne Faithfull or Tom Jones. At the same time, I continued to work in the production of another Benešovský‘s multimedia show, Dark Side Of The Moon at the Winter Stadium in Bílina and The Best of Pink Floyd show in Mělník. Simultaneously, a movie studio Bio Illusion brought to cinemas a documentary about famous Scottish hard rock legend called Nazareth: Until We Drop, which I was also involved in.
During the cooperation with Vít Sázavský from the legendary folk band Nerez at many annual Sázavský Concerts, I was able to work in PR and production at the performances of Spirituál Kvintet, Ondřej Havelka and Melody Makers, Karel Plíhal, Jana Kirschner, Tomáš Klus, Katarína Koščová and many others.
Subsequently, I began to focus on booking and tour management, especially in jazz. After another successful collaboration with Harry Waters Quartet (Waters, Ritchie, Stavi, Scott) at the South Bohemia Jazz Festival, I organized a tour in the Czech Republic and Slovakia for Harry Waters &Friends project, where Harry was accompanied by top musicians of Czech jazz scene.
I’ve organized several international tours for Ian Ritchie’s SOHO Project. Legendary British saxophonist Ian Ritchie is known to audiences all around the world particularly from Roger Waters’ Dark Side of the Moon tour, playing on records by Beach Boys, Geroge Michael or composing the famous Globetrekker theme. The band also performed at several festivals as a headliner alongside Dave Douglas, Richard Bona and Al Di Meola.
Over the years, I have also been able to collaborate with the world-famous Israeli saxophonist, writer and philosopher Gilad Atzmon.
I’ve worked with McNally Waters. The band founded by Harry Waters and Larry John McNally – a songwriter, singer and guitarist, whose hits have recorded musical greats such as Joe Cocker, Rod Stewart, The Eagles and many others. McNally Waters also toured in the United Kingdom as a support act of Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets tour.
In recent years my main focus has been in production of jazz concerts that hosted names such as multiple Grammy winner Randy Brecker, Bobby Watson, Harold López-Nussa or Erik Truffaz to name a few.
