Radek Krampl
JAZZ
Radek Krampl, a student of the eminent Czech jazz pioneer Karel Velebný, is rightly considered the best Czech vibraphonist. A graduate of the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts, Radek is currently a professor at the Prague Conservatory in the percussion department.
Radek Krampl’s artistic range is fascinating and truly diverse. Due to his cross-genre nature, he feels at home in energetic swing, free jazz, blues, Latin music, as well as in funky and contemporary classical music. Krampl’s playing is adorned with refined technical expression and enormous emotion. It is therefore not surprising that his imaginative and distinctive solos can be heard on recordings by other musical icons, such as Michal Pavlíček, Roman Dragoun, Meky Žbirka or the band Monkey Business. His artistic career is connected with the Jan Spálený & ASPM, Luboš Andršt, Milan Svoboda’s Kontraband. The audience could hear Krampl’s virtuosity also alongside Tony Scott, Victor Mendoza and other renowned names in world jazz.
Vibe Fantasy is the profile project of this virtuoso vibraphonist and composer. The band brings an extraordinarily diverse expression, combining elements of soul, blues and Latin American rhythms, all with an emphasis on highly communicative free jazz improvisations.
